Ice Beam
Beam · SpecialProjects an ice beam with a strong slowing effect.
Base cooldown: 1.1 s · Max level: 5
Ice deals extra damage to Grass, Ground, Flying and Dragon. Compare its four defensive weaknesses, explore slowing and freezing attacks and find the Ice partners and Eternal Glacier encounters.
Ice attacks deal ×1.6 to Grass, Ground, Flying and Dragon. Fire, Water, Ice and Steel take ×0.6. These values describe targets with a single defending type.
Pure Ice takes ×1.6 from Fire, Fighting, Rock and Steel. Its only single-type resistance is Ice at ×0.6. Dual typing can change both the weaknesses and the resistances.
The checked official catalog contains 5 Ice moves, including 5 evolution recipes. Their maximum level is 5. Available moves depend on the partner; this type list is not every Pokémon’s learnset.
Checked base values from the reference snapshot. Upgrades and balance changes can alter cooldown; these are not final attack intervals.

Base cooldown: 1.6 s · Max level: 5
Ice Beam projects a beam with strong slowing. Powder Snow creates a slowing field around your partner, while Hail drops slowing strikes onto nearby enemies. Use their different coverage patterns when positioning, and plan the required evolution card without treating slowdown as a guaranteed escape. Ice Shard adds tracking projectiles and Freeze-Dry marks a freezing zone. Their evolution cards are Reflexes and Power respectively.
Slippery ice carries you farther than expected. Turn early and leave room to stop.
Four legendaries can use Eternal Glacier: Articuno, Regice, Kyurem and Glastrier. Regice and Glastrier are pure Ice in this roster. Articuno is Ice / Flying and Kyurem is Dragon / Ice, so they can also use their other type’s arena. Both types still count for damage matchups.

Snowfall boosts Ice attacks and protects Ice partners from its weather damage and movement penalty. That protection also applies to dual-type Ice partners, but does not protect against sandstorm or slippery terrain.
| Weather | Attack damage of this type | Additional effect |
|---|---|---|
| Sandstorm | ×1 | Weather damage unless the partner also has Rock, Ground or Steel. |
| Snowfall | ×1.5 | Ice partners avoid snowfall damage and its movement penalty. |
Multipliers shown at full weather intensity; they transition gradually as weather starts and ends. ×1 means no change to this attack type’s damage. Weather protection checks both of the partner’s types.
Ice deals ×1.6 to Grass, Ground, Flying and Dragon as single defending types. Against two weaknesses together, such as Ground / Flying, the result caps at ×2.4.
Pure Ice takes ×1.6 from Fire, Fighting, Rock and Steel. Ice attacks deal ×0.6 to it. A second type can change the final multiplier.
Reach maximum move level, obtain its card and choose the evolution when offered. Ice Beam → Blizzard (Power); Powder Snow → Icy Wind (Sprint); Hail → Avalanche (Reflexes); Ice Shard → Icicle Spear (Reflexes); Freeze-Dry → Sheer Cold (Power).
No. Upgrades modify cooldown. Charge time, duration and behavior also depend on the move; the listed base values come from the checked code and do not guarantee a final attack cadence.
