Poison deals ×1.6 to Grass and Fairy. Poison, Ground, Rock and Ghost take ×0.6. Steel takes ×0.3 under the game’s softened immunity rule, rather than blocking Poison damage completely.
Pure Poison takes ×1.6 from Ground and Psychic. Grass, Fighting, Poison, Bug and Fairy attacks deal ×0.6. A second type changes the final result, so check the full typing of your partner.
The checked official catalog contains 5 Poison moves, including 5 evolution recipes. Their maximum level is 5. Available moves depend on the partner; this type list is not every Pokémon’s learnset.

Sludge poisons on impact, while Poison Sting launches a fast sting that can poison enemies. Toxic leaves lingering pools that apply severe poison to enemies crossing them. Toxic Spikes places traps that burst and apply severe poison. Plan around where enemies will meet those attacks; Toxic and Toxic Spikes both use Synthesis for their evolution recipes. Acid Spray adds a bouncing attack that poisons enemies and evolves into Sludge Wave with Synthesis.
Poison pools cut across the swamp. Keep your escape route on dry ground.
Three legendaries can use Toxic Swamp: Eternatus, Munkidori and Fezandipiti. All three have a second type: Dragon, Psychic and Fairy respectively. Each can also use its other type’s arena, while keeping both types for damage matchups.

Poison has no direct weather damage boost in the checked code. Sandstorm and snowfall penalties depend on the partner’s complete typing, not on whether its attacks can poison an enemy.
| Weather | Attack damage of this type | Additional effect |
|---|---|---|
| Sandstorm | ×1 | Weather damage unless the partner also has Rock, Ground or Steel. |
| Snowfall | ×1 | Weather damage and up to 10% slower movement unless the partner has Ice as its other type. |
Multipliers shown at full weather intensity; they transition gradually as weather starts and ends. ×1 means no change to this attack type’s damage. Weather protection checks both of the partner’s types.
Poison deals ×1.6 to Grass and Fairy as single defending types. Against Grass / Fairy, the two advantages combine up to the ×2.4 cap.
Yes. The official type chart gives Poison attacks a ×0.3 multiplier against pure Steel. This describes attack damage, not whether a particular status effect can be applied.
Reach maximum move level, obtain its card and choose the evolution when offered. Sludge → Sludge Bomb (Power); Poison Sting → Poison Jab (Sprint); Toxic → Poison Gas (Synthesis); Toxic Spikes → Gunk Shot (Synthesis); Acid Spray → Sludge Wave (Synthesis).
No. Upgrades modify cooldown. Charge time, duration and behavior also depend on the move; the listed base values come from the checked code and do not guarantee a final attack cadence.
